Session Work

A seasoned session musician with 25+ years of studio experience, Goody is fluent in a wide range of idioms from rock, pop, and country to jazz, improvisational, electric and new music. Specializing in guitar (acoustic, electric, slide, resonator, effects), mandolin, banjo, and ukulele, he’s equally comfortable reading charts or improvising new parts. He’s contributed tracks to hundreds of recordings—including the Grammy-nominated Avalon Blues—working with dozens of solo artists and bands, including: Allen Toussaint, Loudon Wainwright, Lori McKenna, Chris Smither, Peter Mulvey, Jeffrey Foucault, Kris Delmhorst, Chris Pureka, and Andy Friedman, among many others. Recent sessions include Mike Meadows, Leah Nobel, Haunt w/ Matt Hebert, Brady Allen, & Robert Steel.
